Introduction: An examination system evaluates factual understanding, conceptual understanding and global understanding of prescribed syllabus and designed curriculum. Examination system assesses individual’s capability to interpret learning in his own language. It is not merely test of knowledge. Examination system evaluates persistent and consistent quality of an individual. It tests the attitude of an individual i.e. how does an individual perform better in extreme pressure. Examination examines individual’s overall personality. Examination systems examine individual’s desire to learn, desire to explore, desire to investigate and desire to apply learning in real life situation. Duties and Responsibilities

College Exam Officer (CEO)

1. Overall coordination of

Theory exam.

Online Exam

Practical Exam.

2. CEO to liaison with University of Pune in cases of students grievances such as

(a) Change/Correction in names in mark sheets

(b) Forwarding revaluation requests of students.

(c) Dealing with photocopying requests of answer sheets.

(d) Dealing with delay in arrival of result.

(e) Questions appearing in the exam that are out of the syllabus or wrong.

3. CEO to print and handover appropriate number of printed question papers as pertaining to the subject, date and time of the exam to the senior supervisor at least 20 mins before the commencement of the exam, maintaining absolute confidentiality.

4. CEO to ascertain that security setup including recording of proceedings in control is in place and functional

5. CEO to liaison with external senior supervisor and ensure his/her availability

6. CEO to ensure the availability of PCs and related paraphernalia room

(a) One PC with CEO with CCTV for the confidential purpose of downloading question papers Second PC for the general purpose of conduct of exam

Senior Supervisor

  1. Arrangements of Block size recommended by University of Pune is in the range 30 to 40.
  2. In case of more than one paper being assigned to a block reasonable number of subjects and examinees to be allotted to a block so that there is ample time for invigilation rather
  3. than writing reports. Preparation of Blocks, Cleaning of the Block, and repairing of the furniture’s, fans and lights etc.
  4. Sanitization of toilets, flush out probable hidden copying material.
  5. Assignment of duties / alternate arrangement’s. Preparation and display of exam schedule and postponement if any.
  6. Initiate action on unfair means, receiving question papers from the CEO and distributing it to the blocks as per schedule of the exam.
  7. Collecting answer scripts from Junior Supervisors.
  8. Packing of written answer sheets, dispatch and maintenance of necessary records including documents pertaining to the CAP center. Appointing of Standby and Reserve Junior Supervisor to cater for emergencies.

Junior Supervisor

  1. Report 20 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
  2. Distribute blank answer papers to the students 10 mins before the start of exam.
  3. Do not allow students to exchange any kind of material.
  4. Do not allow students to communicate amongst them.
  5. Point number 3, 4 and any other malpractices to be immediately brought to the notice of the senior supervisor.
  6. Verify that correct Question Papers based on the pattern and subject is distributed to the students.
  7. Do not talk on mobile phones or indulge in any other activity which distraets your attention from invigilation
  8. Ensure that students are not disturbed due to any reason during the examination,
  9. Do not allow student to leave the exam in first 30 minutes.
  10. Receive the answer papers and arrange them serially before submitting it to the senior Supervisor

Support Staff

  1. The support staff should report 30 minutes before the start of exam.
  2. The blocks should be opened 20 minutes before the start of exam.
  3. Carry out duty as assigned by the senior supervisor. 4. Avoid last minute leave unless absolutely necessary.
  4. Do not leave the exam venue without intimating and without the permission of the senior supervisor.
  5. Assist the senior supervisor in preparation of the blocks. (Shifting and rearranging furniture, cleanliness.)
  6. Promptness in case of urgent exam based needs.
  7. They should be present at the respective blocks, venue or task assigned.
  8. Any exam related task assigned by the senior supervisor or the CEO.
  9. Even after completion of the exam do not leave without the permission of the Senior Supervisor.

Rules & Regulations for Students

  1. Examination will be conducted as per the time table published on the University Web Portal. 
  2. A printout of hall ticket must be presented by the students for verification at the examination center/hall. 
  3. The lists of document that MUST be brought to the examination center are Printout of hall ticket, ORIGINAL photo identity card (Aadhar card /College ID/Driving License/Voter ID/Passport/PAN card). 
  4. Candidates are advised to locate and visit the examination Centre a day before the examination, so as to ensure that on the day of examination, they can reach the center on time.  5. Candidates should report at the examination Centre at least 60 minutes before the start of examination in order to measure their temperature using the thermal gun at the entrance point. Examination Centre should give entry to the students in the examination hall 20 minutes before the scheduled time.
  5. Students are instructed to carry small blank scribble pad for rough work. The scribble pad is expected to be utilized for rough work ONLY. Students are requested to take back the scribble pad with them after the completion of examination.
  6. Candidates must bring their own pen with black or blue ink. Candidates MUST wear their own face mask and maintain physical distancing during the examination. Candidates are allowed to bring sanitizer in a small transparent bottle and are advised to carry their own drinking water in a transparent bottle. Violation of any of the rules and regulations at any stage of the examination will lead to the cancellation of candidature.

Other Rules for Students

  1. Make sure that you are not in possession of any material such as books, note-book, scribbled notes which may tempt you to copy OR use as a reminder. Read the instructions given on the answer- book carefully.
  2. DO NOT take with you any answer-book or supplement written in or blank while leaving the Examination Hall.
  3. DO NOT Speak OR Communicate in any way with any other candidate in the examination hall while the examination is going on.
  4. DO NOT disobey any instruction/s issued to you by the Senior OR the Junior Supervisor.
  5. DO NOT behave in a rude OR disobedient manner.
  6. DO NOT carry Mobile phone in Examination Hall. It is strictly prohibited.

Failure to observe the instructions may result in EXPELLING the candidate instantly and PUNISHING the misconduct or breach of rules by EXCLUDING him from any University or College EXAMINATION OR COURSE FOR A SPECIFIED PERIOD OR PERMANENTLY

Procedures

Exam Form Fillings (University)

  • Notice for the same should be displayed on the notice board with details of dates and fees.
  • Students should fill the exam form online and get it checked with the concerned teachers
  • The exam form duly checked submitted with fees to cashier

Exam Form Fillings (Internal)

  • Notice for the same should be displayed on the notice board with details of dates and fees.
  • Students should fill the exam form and get it checked with the concerned teachers
  • The exam form duly checked submitted with fees to cashier

Hall Ticket Distribution

  • Hall Ticket prints given by University should be distributed duly stamped to students
  • Confirm the entries on the hall ticket is correct by students
  • In case of any grievances the hall ticked correction form to be issued and get it duly filled  & sent to university

Exam Time Table display

  • The time table issued by University is printed and displayed on notice board
  • Highlight the subjects concerned to the college
  • It should displayed well in advance
  • In case of any changes in time table it should be notified with the concerned department

Senior supervisor allotment

  • The allotment of senior supervisor must be given to the faculties having 5 years of teaching experience
  • Appointment letter to be typed and given to him in details prescribing the duties and responsibilities.

Junior supervisor allotment

  • The Junior Supervisor must be allotted by senior supervisor using allotment order
  • Letter of  Allotment to be given to Junior Supervisor well in advance of supervision

Preparation for Examination

  • A Table of required number of blocked must be planned & Prepared in advance by Senior Supervisor as per daily students strength
  • The Summary should be checked with University’s Summary Sheet
  • Then Junior Supervisor requirement table should also be prepared
  • Required stationary to ordered well in advance

Question Paper Printing

  • On receipt of OTP from University the CEO should proceed for question paper printing
  • Selected non-teaching Senior Supervisor must be accompanied with CEO for question paper printing
  • Required Stationary e.g. Xerox Paper, Computer, Printer, Extra Cartage, Internet Connectivity & Battery Backup should be arranged well in advance.
  • In case of delay in question paper printing due to technical reasons time to be extended the period of delay.
  • After printing CEO should take the custody and keep confidentiality of question paper until it get started

CAP Central Assessment Programme (Answer Paper Checking)

  • The paper assessment will be held at Our College.
  • The date of CAP Session will prefixed
  • The time for CAP Session will be prefixed
  • Teachers are instructed to collect their papers daily of the concerned subject and submit it daily before the schedule time.
  • The assessment of papers should be according the Savitribai Phule University Norms.

COVID 19 Precautions

  1. Physical distancing of at least 6 feet to be followed as far as feasible.
  2. Use of face covers/masks to be made mandatory.
  3. Practice frequent hand washing with soap (for at least 40-60 seconds) even when hands are not visibly dirty. Use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers (for at least 20 seconds) can be made wherever feasible.
  4. Respiratory etiquette to be strictly followed. This involves strict practice of covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing/sneezing with a tissue/handkerchief/flexed elbow and disposing off used tissues properly.
  5. Self-monitoring of health by all and reporting any illness at the earliest.
  6. Spitting shall be strictly prohibited.
  7. Installation & use of Aarogya Setu App shall be advised to all, as far as feasible.

Conduction of Practical Examination of Science Faculty

Instructor’s Manual:

  1. The instructor’s manual is to be developed as a hands-on resource and reference.
  2. Copy of Curriculum, Conduction & Assessment guidelines, List of Experiments to be attached

For Laboratory Conduction:

  1. Students are not allowed to touch any equipment or other materials in the laboratory until they are instructed by Teacher or Technician.
  2. All the experiments mentioned in the syllabus are compulsory.
  3. Use of open source software and recent version is to be encouraged.
  4. In addition to these, faculty member has to get it done a mini-project based on the concepts learned.

Student’s Lab Journal:

  1. The laboratory assignments/experiments are to be submitted by student in the form of journal.
  2. Journal consists of Certificate, table of contents, and handwritten write-up for each experiment.
  3. Each experiment should consist of:

Lab Assessment:

  1. Continuous assessment of laboratory work is done based on overall performance.
  2. Each lab assignment/ experiment assessment will assign grade / marks based on parameters with appropriate weightage.
